About

A co-educational ICSE day school for Classes VI to XII, built on enquiry, discipline, and service since 1998.

Our school

Himalaya Public School opened in 1998 with 90 students in three grades, on a foothill site off Rajpur Road, Dehradun. Today we are a co-educational day school of about 1,100 students from Classes VI to XII, affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), teaching the ICSE course to Class X and the ISC course to Class XII.

Vision

To run a school where students in their middle and senior years are known, challenged, and cared for, and leave able to think for themselves and stand on their own feet.

Mission

  • Teaching for understanding by subject specialists in small sections.
  • Sport, music, and the arts given real time in the week, for every class.
  • A safe, secular campus where character and service matter as much as results.
  • An honest partnership with parents, with regular and truthful reports.

From the Chairman
We built Himalaya as a school for the years that shape a young person, Classes VI to XII. A good school in these years is patient, rigorous, and kind, and that is still the measure we hold ourselves to.
